Mujeres Empresarios de las Comunidades Reciben Canastas Básicas de Alimentos

The Association CoCoSI distributed 64 basic food baskets including cleaning products to womyn local entrepreneurs in the communities of Santa Marta, El Rodeo, Valle Nuevo and El Zapote on April 21 to help mitigate their loss of income due to the coronavirus quarantine emergency.
CoCoSI works to strengthen and protect the rights of poor womyn in rural Cabañas; even so, the equality gap between womyn and men is still prevalent in these communities.Although more men are infected with Covid-19 than womyn, the rise in violence against womyn here in El Salvador during the days of quarantine has disproportionately affected them.
To achieve gender equality and empower all womyn and girls we will continue to work and defend while following all safety measures and recommendations to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
